Apr 14, 2024Missed Opportunities (Acts 24:24)Special Guests: Evangelist Paul Crow & FamilyPaul Crow was born and reared in Greenville, South Carolina. He was saved at the age of fifteen. Not long after his salvation, ministry opportunities began to present themselves. By the time Paul graduated from high school, he was certain that God wanted him to preach. Sarah Crow was saved after she graduated from high school. Shortly afterward, she entered Ambassador Baptist College where she surrendered her life to full-time Christian service. Since July of 2002, Paul and his family have traveled in full time evangelism, preaching in churches all over the United States and foreign countries as well. Their greatest joy is to see souls saved and churches revived. Paul and Sarah are active members of the Clearview Baptist of Southaven, Mississippi, where Paul serves as staff evangelist.

Dec 18, 2022The Christ of Christmas: the Humility of ChristPhilippians 2:8 “And being found in fashion
as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”Christmas is an occasion for us to celebrate
how Jesus Christ, Who is God, was born as a
man so that He could die for our sins. Jesus had
to humble Himself to become a man. He “made
himself of no reputation and took upon him the
form of a servant.”But Jesus could have become any kind of
man. He could have become a great king, a
wealthy businessman, or a powerful military
leader. He chose to become the humblest kind
of a man instead. He chose to become a servant
and was born into a carpenter’s home.Jesus’ humility does not stop there. He
humbled Himself even further by consenting to
die on the cross for the sins of the world.
Execution on a cross was one of the most
humiliating forms of death that depraved man
has ever invented. He hung on a cross for all to
see, shake their heads, and mock him.Why did Jesus submit to so much humiliation?
He did it for you and me. By humbling Himself and
dying on the cross, Jesus paid the penalty for our
sin so that we might be saved. All we must do to
receive the salvation that Jesus offers is humble
ourselves and accept the free gift of forgiveness by
faith. - Dec 18, 2022The Tree Of Life

“Let this mind be in you, which was
also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form
of God, thought it not robbery to be equal
with God.” (Philippians 2:5-6)One of my favorite Christmas passages in
scripture is not usually associated with the
holiday. Philippians 2 describes how Jesus,
though He is God, became a man. God the
Son was born of the virgin Mary so He could
live and die for our sins, be buried, and then
rise again. That is what we celebrate at
Christmas time. The mystery of the incarnation will always
perplex us to some degree. Because it is difficult
to understand, it leads some people to draw
incorrect conclusions about Jesus. For instance,
some people conclude that Jesus was not God
from the beginning but became God through
living a perfect life. The Bible does not teach this.
The Bible teaches that Jesus is God, He was God
in eternity past, and He will always be God.Understanding the truth about the Deity of
Christ is important if you are to fully appreciate
what He did for us. He willingly set aside the
glory and the honor that was rightfully His as
God the Son to be born as a man and die for us.
No one has ever given up as much as Jesus did
when He came to earth. The cute little Baby in the
manger was no less than the eternal Creator God
of the universe. - Nov 6, 2022I Know I Can’t
Nov 6, 2022I Know I Can’tBy: Pastor Chambers
One of my earliest memories is from when I was in preschool. I was four years old and attending Hickory Grove Presbyterian Preschool, where my mom was one of the teachers. Occasionally we would watch movies projected onto the block wall of the basement, and one day we watched the story of “The Little Train Who Could.” I remember feeling sad for the train as his friends made fun of him. I remember feeling anxious as he finally had a chance to prove himself by hauling that big load up that hill. I remember cheering him on in my mind as he chugged, “I think I can, I think I can…” until he finally crested the top. It is
a wonderful story to teach children the values of determination and perseverance. But there is a downside to a story like that. The truth is that there are some things we cannot do, no matter how hard we try or think we can. If we stubbornly push ahead anyway, insisting that we can do something when it is impossible for us, we will become frustrated, angry, and eventually, give up altogether. This is especially true when it comes to spiritual things. Because we are sinners, there are some things that we cannot do on our own. We cannot save ourselves.
No amount of effort will ever be enough to merit salvation or pay off our sin debt. We cannot sanctify ourselves either. Some people teach that salvation is by grace, but sanctification is by works. That is a lie. We are sanctified the same way we are saved: by grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Instead of always saying, “I think I can,” we need to learn when to say, “I know I can’t.” - Oct 30, 2022Walking In The Truth

Walking in the Truth
For many deceivers are entered
into the world, who confess not that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This
is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look
to yourselves, that we lose not those
things which we have wrought, but
that we receive a full reward.(2 John 1:7-8)
Truth is important. A culture built
on a foundation devoid of absolute
truth is not sustainable. It will collapse
under the weight of its own subjectivity.
It results in a loose collection of individuals
all living in their own imaginary worlds
with no way to relate to each other. It is
important that you believe that there is
truth, and it is important that you believe
the things that are true.In the tiny epistle of 2 John, the
beloved apostle commends those who
walk in the truth and warns them to be
on guard against those who do not believe
the truth and spread lies about the person
of Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way, the
truth, and the life.” Those who follow
Jesus must acknowledge that there is
truth and that Jesus is the personification
of truth. John goes so far as to prohibit
truth followers from extending hospitality
to those who come to deceive and deny
Christ. The danger is that we would be
swept away by their lies and deceit, or
that we would harm our testimony by
associating with them. We could then
lose the rewards we would have received
if we remained faithful. We must practice
Godly discernment concerning the people
we follow and promote lest we be guilty
by association with those who don’t follow
the truth. - Sep 25, 2022Faithfulness of Giving to Missions
