A Virtuous Woman

A Virtuous Woman
Sunday AM

00:00 / 52:28

There are some who have the idea that if you follow the Bible, then you end up with a system that is oppressive to women.  It is true that some in history have twisted the scriptures to support misogyny, but if you allow the Bible to speak for itself, you will find that women have a special place in God’s eternal plan.
God’s creation of the woman was by special design.  God made Adam from the dust of the ground, and then God saw that it wasn’t good for him to be alone.  The man needed a “help meet,” that is, a suitable helper, a completer. He needed one that was his equal that could stand beside him and help him be what God wanted him to be. So God took one of Adam’s ribs and from that created Eve. No other creature was made that way.  She was unique.
It would take a lifetime to study all the godly women of scripture.  There is Sarah, Hannah, Ruth, Esther, Mary, Lois, Priscilla, Phoebe, and many others.  Repeatedly, throughout scripture, women are used by God in extraordinary ways and held up as examples of faith and virtue.  A Godly woman is a true treasure of incomparable worth.
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10
Our culture is trying its best to erase the distinctions between the genders and in so doing is robbing women of that which sets them apart.  It is the uniqueness of the woman that is the source of her strength and beauty.  She is not a man, she was designed to function as a woman, and she will never find fulfillment until she embraces that which the Creator designed her to be.
