Missionary Roger Blevins
From 1981 until 1996, Roger and Kay and their family
served the Lord in Spain, where God allowed them to
help missionaries in three different churches during their
first term. During their second term, the Lord led them
to start a church in Madrid, where they labored for eleven
years before turning it over to a national pastor. Roger also
had the privilege of helping to establish and of teaching for
ten years in the Torrejón Baptist Bible Institute in Torrejón
de Ardoz, Spain.
In 1996, God began to deal with the Blevins’ hearts about
leaving Spain. This was an extremely difficult decision for
them because of their great love for the Spanish people.
With great sadness, but with great peace that they were in
the center of God’s will for them, the Blevins left Spain in
December, 1996. In November of 1997, they began the
Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida (New Life Baptist Church) in
Conyers, Georgia (in the east-metro area of Atlanta) where
they served for nearly ten years.
In May of 2006, Dr. James Ray, the President and General
Director of BIMI, asked Roger to pray about serving in a
new capacity with the Mission. After much prayer, God gave
Roger and Kay assurance that this was His perfect will for
them and in June of 2006, the Board of Trustees of BIMI
appointed Roger to the position of South American Director.
