Even if you don’t watch a lot of television, you most likely know what an infomercial is. An infomercial is like a commercial, only it lasts much longer, and the sales person always seems to have had way more caffeine that day than they should have. Whether they are selling you a kitchen gadget that can slice a potato fourteen different ways or a knife that can cut through a steel belted radial tire without losing its edge, all infomercials seem to have one common element. The deal they are offering is always a “limited time offer.” You must buy it today, or you may never get this good of a deal again!

I’ve made it a habit to walk away if a salesman tells me I have to buy something now or I can’t get the deal ever again. Usually, that is nothing more than a high-pressure sales tactic. There is only one offer that you cannot afford to wait on, and that is the offer of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have never repented of your sin and trust Jesus as your Savior, the truth is, you need to be saved today! 2 Corinthians 6:2 says, “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Why should you get saved today? There are least three reasons. First, your death is coming. You don’t know how much longer you have to live and therefore, whether you will have another chance to trust Christ. Second, you can desensitize your conscience. The longer you ignore the Holy Spirit’s conviction, the less you will sense that conviction. Third, the decision has eternal consequences. It’s not a good deal on a kitchen knife that you might miss out on if you don’t trust Christ, its eternity in heaven that you will miss and eternity in hell that you will get instead. You should trust Christ for salvation today!
